I am thrilled to announce that I have successfully defended my PhD thesis and been awarded the distinction of summa cum laude. This morning's defense marks the culmination of years of challenging yet transformative academic work, and I couldn't be more proud of this milestone achievement.

This journey would not have been possible without the exceptional support of my academic community. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my chair supervisor, Professor Alexander Proelss, whose enthusiastic guidance and vital feedback proved invaluable throughout this process. His mentorship was instrumental in helping me develop my scholarly voice and navigate the complexities of doctoral research.

I am equally indebted to my co-supervisor, Professor Don Rothwell, who began as my visiting fellowship host before taking on a supervisory role. His generous insights, thoughtful feedback, and stimulating conversations greatly enriched my research and fostered a truly collaborative academic experience. Coming from an unconventional background, I often questioned my place in academia—Professor Rothwell's mentorship helped me find that sense of belonging and has set an exemplary standard for what great mentorship should embody.

My sincere appreciation also extends to the examination committee members for their engaging discussion and thought-provoking questions during the defense.

As I close this chapter of my academic journey, I'm excited to embark on the next phase as a postdoctoral researcher. I look forward to embracing new challenges and continuing to contribute to the field of international public law as part of the growing community of female scholars in this discipline.
